According to the auto maker, Volvo's C30 DRIVe Electric concept will receive an additional hydrogen fuel cell to extend the EV's 94-mile range. This will create a hybrid hydrogen-electric plug-in. The fuel cell will add an additional (and amazing) 155 miles of range. Volvo plans to source the hydrogen from gasoline.

"Rather than relying on the promised hydrogen highway to be built, Volvo is exploring the use of an on-board reformer to process gasoline into hydrogen gas....

Many of the top automakers new concept cars run on electricity, hydrogen, E85 ethanol, and a combination of some or all of those. But we have yet to see a vehicle that runs completely air. And that is what Volvo has in store for their Air Motion Concept.
